Backstory

Bayriban’s flock of 4,000 sheep has been accused of being sick and kept under lockdown for close to 2 years. Yet the sheep keep breeding, show zero signs of sickness, and multiple lab tests from many organisations have come back negative.

The hardship cost Bayriban his health: he was diagnosed with cancer. The state has also repressed him. He isn’t allowed to take his sheep out of his small farm, and he isn’t even allowed to sell them to buy food with the money. The flock keeps multiplying, with more mouths to feed and no way to feed them. He hasn’t received a single cent of support from the state.

His sheep survived on donations from strangers, but those have dried up because people have nothing left to give. Now there is no food left, and the flock is close to dying. His two sons work beside him, and both have wives and children who depend on the same land.

Protests haven’t stopped, and crowds keep standing up for him. His story has passed 500 million views across platforms.
